Four games dominated the bulk of the hot gaming news that hit the PS3 blog this week -- Uncharted 2, God of War III, LittleBigPlanet, and Killzone 2. The latter two have already been out for a while now but thanks to continued support from their respective developers, PS3 gamers have been getting a steady supply of new content post-launch. As for the first two titles, well, if you're a PS3 owner and you haven't heard of them yet then you really should try and look for another place to live in. I hear sleeping under rocks isn't good for your health.

In his interview with Eurogamer, Epic Games' Mark Rein talks about the many sides of the industry - from game development, consumer status quo, all the way to publisher strategies. Many interesting points were brought up, but one of the more notable bits of info gathered is his take on the PS3 price cut talk. Mark Rein reckons that with Sony's financial difficulties this year, a price cut was out of the question.

With the E3 2009 just literally around the corner, we've got publishers and developers alike scrambling to put the finishing touches on their presentations lined up for the event. Epic Games is no different, and has now revealed their plans for the said event. Full plan list after the jump.

Mark Rein has dismissed the rumor that Legendary Pictures is looking to acquire Epic Games as "just another rumor."

Whew. I thought I was looking at a whole new generation of bad video game movie adaptations.

Epic VP Mark Rein revealed that they are working together with Midway on a "major expansion" for Unreal Tournament 3 (PS3, Xbox 360, Windows PC). A new UI, hopefully? Better online gaming? Find out more in the full article.

Ignition Entertainment's Florida studio is stepping into the next-gen arena and it has a "ground-breaking FPS" inbound. To make the development process as smooth as possible, they licensed Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3 for the effort. More details after the jump.

And better yet, this is no rumor. An official statement has been worded out: Sega, the guys who've planned to go all out on game adaptations of other media franchises, have licensed the third iteration of the Unreal Engine from Epic Games for an as yet unidentified project. Epic Games announced that it has recently acquired Chair Entertainment, the dev studio behind the Xbox Live Arcade title Undertow.

Chair's also working on a game series based on the "Ender's Game" novels, so it'll be interesting to see how this new arrangement will affect that project. More details on the acquisition are available in the full article.
