Sega has released some new information about Iron Man 2, the new Iron Man game being developed as a tie-in for the next Iron Man movie. It's a tie-in, but it won't follow the movie too closely. Instead, writer Matt Fraction will be taking a middle ground approach by drawing from both the movie and comic book universes, both of which he has been involved with. More after the jump.

Looks like that recently announced Marvel MMO game is still quite a ways off. Marvel Comics bigwig Simon Philips reveals that the team is aiming for a 2012 release. But why take that long? According to him, they're planning to make it coincide after the rush of Marvel movies to hit theaters (The Avengers, Captain America, Thor, Iron Man 2, Spider-man 4, X-Men Origins...). Aside from that, there are developmental matters to consider as well.

D'oh! It looks like Marvel Comics is joining the bandwagon in fortifying their defenses against copyright infringement in LittleBigPlanet. Apparently, Marvel has been hounding Sony to start moderating user-created customized Sackboy costumes that take from the Marvel universe. *sniff*

Zen Studios is bringing us another game based on Marvel Comics, this time around, it's going to be the Punisher. It's already tagged as the first FPS DLC title on the PSN, and the first Marvel game to be FPS! Spidey might be webslinging around New York with Cylon 6, but that doesn't mean the Punisher can't wreak havoc online too.

From Forza 3 requiring two discs to Marvel's Ultimate Alliance 2 happening during the Civil War story arc, these are the tidbits of info we've had to contend with today, and they all have a rumor tag on it. Even though Electronic Arts and Marvel Comics announced that they have plans of making a new fighting game franchise that would follow Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects, it seems that we won't be seeing these plans into a reality. Take-Two Interactive Europe today released a huge load of screenshots for their upcoming multi-platform title Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer. This movie tie-in game will be a third person action/adventure title featuring Marvel Comics' legendary super-powered foursome.

Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer will weave together elements from the long-running comic book series as well as Twentieth Century Fox/Marvel Entertainment's highly anticipated movie sequel. Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer is scheduled to be released for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 platforms alongside the movie this June.
