Not much detail has been revealed regarding Rockstar's upcoming PS3 exclusive espionage title Agent except for the game will be set in the late 1970's. But during a Q&A session about next month's Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360, PS3) expansion, The Ballad of Gay Tony, it looks like the game is headed for a 2010 release date alongside Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3. Dutch website Cynamite.de posted some rather interesting screenshots of Rockstar's Max Payne 3 (PS3, Xbox 360). But unfortunately, the interesting part does not lie with how great the graphics look or what sort of clues are scattered about regarding the game.

When you think of Max Payne, does Mark Wahlberg come to mind? Yeah, well forget that face because the Max Payne we'll see in Max Payne 3 is going to sport a totally different look. Rockstar Games wasn't kidding when they said this is just a "Teaser" trailer for Max Payne 3 (PS3, Xbox 360). That frozen image you see on the embed below is simply the only thing you'll find in this vid. Well, not entirely though, cos they do show Rockstar's logo at the beginning, as well as the "Winter 2009" mark at the end.

Despite the critical calamity that is the Max Payne movie, the video game arm of the franchise is still going strong. Rockstar Games has sent out a press release announcing that they're planning to release Max Payne 3 by Winter of this year.

Following the scathing criticisms he leveled at the movie adaptation of Max Payne, 3DRealms CEO Scott Miller did a follow up interview with Edge saying, "To be clear, I'm proud of this film." He noted the many difficulties the movie faced, including Rockstar Games' attempts to stop production after they bought the IP. More in the full article inside.

Despite harsh reviews from both critics and fans, the Max Payne movie raked in US$ 18 million last weekend, easily landing the top spot in the US box office. An impressive feat considering that even the original game's producer, 3D Realms, had some major issues with the John Moore film.

Everybody knows that game-to-movie adaptations never really turn out too well, but maybe, just maybe, with a decent budget and a solid lead actor, Max Payne may be the first to beak the game-movie stereotype.

Then again, maybe not. Early reviews are already out and the prognosis isn't exactly glowing.
