The recent Byron report released in Europe gave the different classification groups in the region something to think about. Despite advocating a medium between both the BBFC and PEGI rating systems, ELSPA had its own opinion regarding the matter by favoring the PEGI Age Rating System as the sole classification system for video games in Europe. Find out the reason behind this by reading our full article after the jump. |

Here's another idea which is nearly as absurd as the possibility of giving LittleBigPlanet an M rating: Capcom's remake of its classic 2D action side-scroller will be given its own adult-exclusive rating according to several video game rating organizations. To find out more about this rather unexpected development regarding Bionic Commando Rearmed, read all about it in our full article after the jump. |

Previously, media classification groups from all over Europe complimented the professional review of Dr. Tanya Byron, as part of the UK government's ratings review. Those media groups included the Interactive Software Federation of Europe, who's underlying PEGI was particularly noted. But while the ISFE generally agreed with the report, secretary general Patrice Chazerand doesn't seem to agree with Byron's recommendations for change. More at the full story. |

The recent review released by Dr. Tanya Byron regarding the rating standards of violent video games in Europe was met with a most positive response from the different media classification groups in the region. The BBFC, ELSPA, ISFE, and Tiga each gave their own statements, generally agreeing with the suggestions given in the comprehensive document released by the British psychologist.
