PSP best-selling gaming system for the month - Image 1The latest numbers in Japan are now in from Famitsu, showing strong sales of the PSP-3000. The industry as a whole seems to be suffering in the region though; the data says that sales keep falling since last year. But that's probably just because everyone in Japan already has a console. Media Create Japan 10/13 10/19 - PSP sold almost 160K - Image 1The PSP-3000 continues to make huge waves in Japan. All in all, the PSP saw sales more than twice all the consoles and the DS combined. I think "wow" would be the best word in this situation.

Also in the news, the Xbox 360 continues to outsell the PlayStation 3.

UMD vs DLC - Image 1With the launch of the PlayStation Store on the PSP, Sony's established a milestone in their ongoing journey through the realm of content downloading from the PS3 Store to the PC Store and now, the PSP Store. Will the previous rumor of seeing all PSP games in 2009 as downloads eventually prove true? If that were the case, then some of you might be worried (for the nth time now) about the UMD format's future. A Sony executive responded to this concern, keeping optimism for the UMD alive.
