Electronic Arts is most certainly proud to announce today the record-breaking launch of the latest iteration in the FIFA videogame franchise, FIFA 10 (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS, PS2 and PC). In its first week alone, said title has earned over 1.7 million copies throughout European retail.

UFC president Dana White went on the warpath recently against EA Sports after the latter supposedly refused to go into a partnership for a UFC game and then eventually announcing their own MMA game. While it's not exactly a direct response to White's incendiary words, EA Sports president Peter Moore said his piece on mixed martial arts in a recent blog post.

It's one thing to know you've got great competition, it's another to admit that they're doing much better than you. That's exactly what Peter Moore did in his interview with Industry Gamers, when he admitted that 2K Sports is doing much better than his EA Sports. He's not gonna sit and watch his guys eat some 2K dust though, he and his crew are "working very, very diligently" to close the gap that 2K made between them.

Peter Moore is of the opinion that the motion controls presented by both Microsoft and Sony at this year's E3 are "huge opportunit[ies]" for the development house. Their development house, of course.

Finally stepping up to the plate in defense of video games is Electronic Arts exec Peter Moore -- and to Mr. President, Barack Obama himself, no less! After recommending that kids should play out in the sunshine more rather than play videogames indoor, in his speech to the American Medical Association, Obama has now been challenged by Moore to get into a 30-Day Challenge.

"It's time to stop bad-mouthing EA." This is what David Rutter, producer for Electronic Arts FIFA game franchise, had to say to the naysayers and critics that have nothing but the worst to say about his company. There has been a lot of EA-bashing for some time now, so Rutter comes to EA's defense, with a small confession of his own.

Back in E3 at the LA Convention Center, Electronic Arts announced their brave new stab into the mixed martial arts gaming scene, EA Sports MMA for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The game is going to be developed by the guys who handled Madden and Tiger Woods, EA Tiburon, with the promise that the game will feature a wider variety of moves and fighting styles than the ones we've already seen. It's just been confirmed - via EA Sports president Peter Moore, no less - that the NBA Street  (Xbox 360, PS3, PSP) series is on "official hiatus". Meanwhile, NBA Ballers (Xbox 360, PS3) seem to be also in a bit of a jam.
