Here's a bit of good news for BioWare fans. According to video game news site PlayStation Universe, a BioWare community director has confirmed that the company will indeed be attending this year's E3. The company will reportedly have some "cool stuff" to show at the event, but apart from that, no other details were revealed.

There is also some speculation about a possible PS3-related announcement from BioWare. Ray Muzyka, the company's CEO, was reported to have openly stated that BioWare has something cooking for the Sony PS3 at a Video games Live concert in Edmonton, Canada, early this year.

The rumor was subsequently quashed by BioWare PR coordinator Erik Einsiedel, but both Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk have confirmed that the company is indeed working on all next-gen platforms.

Right after BioWare's CEO Ray Muzyka was caught openly claiming that they've got something in the works for the PS3, the Canadian game-makers have suddenly gotten all wishy-washy about the issue. They haven't exactly confirmed that they are making games for the PS3, but the problem is, neither have they denied it.

As CVG has found out when they tried to get a statement from the Canadian game company, all that BioWare's PR coordinator Erik Einsiedel has got to say about it right now, is that they just "haven't made any official announcements about any plans for the PS3". Well, considering the fact that BioWare has produced some of the past decade's most memorable games, we're not surprised that Muzyka's off-hand comment has turned a lot of ears in their direction.

After all, Baldur's Gate, Mass Effect and SW: KotOR on the PS3 does sound rather nice.

And being the inquisitive souls we are, we couldn't help but ask: What exactly is in the works? For one, we could be looking at a console port for an MMORPG - the Xbox 360 had that in Age of Conan. Or better yet, could the be planning on a PS3 port of the much talked about (and gender-confused) Mass Effect title slated for a 360 launch? Best yet, could they be cooking up an IP built to the console's specs?

The good news is that BioWare has yet to deny the rumors (more than we can say for some others), with the bad news being they have yet to confirm it either. If anything, the fact that Ray was openly discussing this in a high-profile event means one thing - expect more info to be released. Hope to see you when that happens.
