Always quick with a comment, Michael Pachter has weighed in on the rumor about Microsoft buying Electronic Arts. As far as the Wedbush Morgan analyst is concerned, the rumor doesn't make any sense at all.

You've got Gears of War 2, BioShock 2, Resident Evil 5, Patapon 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, God of War III, Fable 2... the list goes on. Yes, from time to time new IPs pop into the picture, but they're few and far between, unfortunately. Sony CEO Jack Tretton is quite ecstatic with the way their Cell powered beast is selling this year. Speaking in an interview with Reuters, Tretton reveals that the PS3 is actually selling faster than they previously expected it would.

A recent piece from Reuters reported that aside from being offered on Blu-ray, LittleBigPlanet will also be available as a download through the PlayStation Network. Don't get excited though. Sony stepped in to clarify that this was an error, and that the game will only be released on Blu-ray.
