PS3 XMB - Image 1Now that the PS3 has turned three years old, Sony has something big to celebrate with. Heads up, Sony has now confirmed that FW 3.10 will be going live today, after being announced only two days ago. Now that's fast. By tomorrow, your Facebook news feed will be jam-packed with download news and Trophy-whoring.

Judge hammer - Image 1Some guys just don't get it. Remember Erik Estavillo? He was banned from playing Resistance: Fall of Man and the PlayStation Network earlier this year, prompting him to sue Sony for "pain and suffering" caused by the ban, as well as for the money he still had in his PSN account that he can no longer access. His case was dismissed last September 22nd since there was no plausible claim for relief via First Amendment. The case, however, isn't closed just yet folks.

MAG - Image 1Early this morning, SCEA released an update for the MAG public beta bringing the version up to 1.30. This rather sizable updated saw about 8,000 updates and fixes - but the SCEA director of development, Seth Luisi, wasn't crazy enough to post 'em all at the PlayStation Blog. He did, however, give us a quick list of highlights from the changelog.

SOCOM - Image 1SCEA has announced a new downloadable map pack for SOCOM: Confrontation is on the way. Known simply as the Cold Front pack, it will be loaded with new features and contents, including a brand new snowy Eastern European area of operations. It will also include two new maps and three classic SOCOM maps for 16 to 32 players.

PS3 FW 3.0 - Image 1Not everyone was happy with Sony's Firmware 3.0 update, we all know that. Apparently though, it turns out somebody was mad enough to actually file a lawsuit against Sony for having the said upgrade cause "malfunction" to his PS3 unit. Reports of freezes came rolling out almost immediately when the firmware was released.

EyePet - Image 1We know, we know. Sony promised EyePet will be coming on November 17th, 2009. Unfortunately, there's been some change in plans. The virtual pet has been pushed back to a Spring 2010 release.

PS Store - Image 1To celebrate the launch of PSP Go, SCEA has decided to update the PlayStation Store a day early. PSP Go owners as well as the die hard PSP gamers will surely have plenty of reasons to celebrate this week as Sony promises to release over a hundred new PSP games including the PSP minis, that is now available for download. But if you're a PS3 owner, don't worry, there are plenty of stuff waiting for you.
