Itagaki-san - Image 1No ill feelings here. Tomonobu Itagaki and his ex-team have moved on - he has a new team, Team Ninja has new projects - and he only has the best wishes for Team Ninja and its new leader, Yosuke Hayashi. It's a refreshing change to see the man behind the sunglasses be so positive for a change and he even had enough compliments to go around. Good for you, Itagaki-san.

Metroid Prime Developers Armature Studio Eye 360, PS3 for Future Games - Image 1Three key devs behind Nintendo's Metroid Prime series have formed a new studio, under the publishing flag of Electronic Arts. What does that mean for us gamers, exactly? It means the prime (hah) talents behind Metroid are now free to develop games for non-Nintendo platforms. Personally I'm looking forward to see what they have in store. More in the full article.

An animator going by the name Monty Oum, known by some for the amazing Haloid movie that had a female Master Chief going intimate with Samus Aran, recently unleashed his latest project titled Dead Fantasy I. Yep, it's another crossover, and we liked it so much we thought you guys should check it out, too.

In this short animated movie, Final Fantasy girls go at it against Dead or Alive babes. Yuna and Rikku in their FF X-2 outfits face Kasumi, Ayane, and Hitomi in an action-packed exchange of deadly blows oozing with fanservice. Tifa in her FF VII: Advent Children clothes also makes an appearance, and marks the promise of a Dead Fantasy part two.

Aside from revealing the characters involved, we don't want to go into more spoilers. We'll leave you with the video embedded below.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - Image 1

Electronic Gaming Monthly, or EGM, is known for its rumors bin - and its biting and mostly unforgiving reviews. We found a thread at NeoGAF detailing the important parts of EGM's September issue. We'll skip the abysmal scores of Lair and Blue Dragon, instead, we'll give you the Metroid Prime 3: Corruption details and the issue in question's rumors bin.

The lucky guys at EGM were able to preview Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. The verdict? They pointed out four things in particular. More action since there is more shooting, though exploration is still a big part of the game. Also, they mentioned a "lock-on free shooting" feature. Second point is the Wii controls, they indicated that it adds to the game's experience.

Third, they mentioned that the ship plays a major role in the game as players can use it as a mobile save point. Also, there were hints of aerial combat on the ship's options as well. Lastly, it was pointed out that "no Samus talking".

Next up is the rumors bin. Six were mentioned for the issue, most notable perhaps is the one about the maker of Jeanne d'Arc and Dragon Quest VIII - Level 5 is going to announce four new RPGs at the coming Tokyo Game Show (TGS). It was also said that Square Enix will start remaking another RPG franchise, Dragon Quest. Reportedly, it will be starting with Dragon Quest 4 for the DS.

EGM also ventured to speculate about the failure rates of Xbox 360s; apparently, Microsoft is "funneling all the best 360 parts to the elite model".

They also took a shot at Electronics Arts' Def Jam, saying that the next one in the franchise will be better than Icon. Another interesting piece of info is the one about IO Interactive, devs of Kane and Lynch. According to the report, IO will be making - or is already making - a kids' game.

Lastly, they reported that the next James Bond video game will be using Call of Duty 4's game engine.

What do you think? For now, we'll put all of these into rumors bin until they are given official confirmation.

World's greatest female character? - Image 1Gone were the times when males dominated the gaming scene. Years have passed, and hundreds of digital babes made gamers blush. We have Terra from FFVI, Samus Aran from Metroid, Lara Croft from Tomb Raider - all those characters from established franchises. Tecmo, however, believes that the world's greatest female action character is their Ninja Gaiden Sigma's Rachel.

Director Yosuke Hayashi dropped by CVG to give some word about their upcoming playable female character. He said:

Our main goal has been to create a new playable character, the fiend-hunter Rachel, who will be considered 'the world's greatest female action character'. Rachel offers a new and different experience, and through her character, players can enjoy a manoeuvring feel and actions that are completely different from the super Ninja, Ryu Hayabusa's.

The game may look cool, and we all enjoyed the demo, but here's a big statement we've got here. Will Tecmo live up to their word? We'll have to wait 'til Ninja Gaiden Sigma ships next month.

Gravity: 1) seriousness or importance; dire consequence. 2) solemnity or dignity of manner. 3) natural force of attraction exerted by a celestial body drawing objects toward its center. 4) a peculiar glitch encountered in the physics engine of Resistance: Fall of Man.

We're not sure if Webster would accept the fourth definition, but it still holds true. mik3yl3 sent us a link to his footage of a strange phenomenon in RFoM's co-op mode. Unless he was able to get a hold of Insomniac Games' version of Samus' Hi-Jump boots, there's no way that this was faked. There's no other explanation for it: it's a glitch.

Even though he comments that the bluetoothed controller was "freaking out on player 2" a few minutes prior to this jumping spree, we highly doubt that it's a hardware glitch. Because even if it were, the physics engine of the game wouldn't have allowed that to happen. And so, we're only led to believe that the root of this glitch is the engine itself or some warped piece of code. But glitch or not, it still looks fun being able to break free from the shackles of gravity.
