Those who've already been to the PlayStation Store might've run into the new EA Sports category over there. Just like Capcom dating back to November in 2008 with the release of Age of Booty, EA Sports would be the second to have its own special storefront.

UFC president Dana White once recognized EA Sports to be a great publisher, having produced successful sports game franchises such as FIFA, NASCAR, Tiger Woods PGA, and Madden NFL. White wanted the Ultimate Fighting Championships to have its own video game and join those ranks, so he went to the EA Sports hoping for a deal. Unfortunately, EA did not believe in MMA, so they turned White down, saying that the UFC is "not a real sport."

The Playstation Store update for Europe is now available. This week, you have three excellent PSN games that includes the PS3 exclusive Punisher: No Mercy, an old school classic James Pond: Robocod, the massive PSP hit game Monster Hunter Freedom Unite plus four other PSP games, new add-on contents for MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, LittleBigPlanet  and more.

It's Day 2 of E3, and the PlayStation Store just got updated again with the latest vids, clips, and demos from the Electronic Entertainment Expo. This update features the second and third parts of the E3 presscon, plus a whole bunch of trailers and debut vids all waiting to be downloaded, as well as a few other items that you might wanna take a look at. Back in E3 at the LA Convention Center, Electronic Arts announced their brave new stab into the mixed martial arts gaming scene, EA Sports MMA for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The game is going to be developed by the guys who handled Madden and Tiger Woods, EA Tiburon, with the promise that the game will feature a wider variety of moves and fighting styles than the ones we've already seen. This week's Playstation Store update for Europe is sure to pump you up as not just one but four game demos are available. Leading the pack are the much-awaited demos for inFamous and Marvel vs. Capcom 2. You also get new packs for MotorStorm Pacific Rift, Chronicles of Riddick and H.A.W.X. Also included in the update are a PS1 classic and a full game for the PSP.

What happens when you cross GTA and a Tiger Woods golf title? You get Ghetto Golf, a new golf title where you putt, drive, and break stuff all over the hood. If you thought that golf was only for rich, stiff, country club types, Ghetto Golf is out to challenge the stereotype.

In its second week running, FIFA 09 still manages to keep its score. Electronic Arts' football game retains the top spot in Chart Track UK's weekly sales ranking for software. Last week's seconder, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, looses its grip and slides down to fourth place, thus giving rise to the caped crusader. Lego Batman: The Video Game debuts this week in second place.
