damonSports builds, aside from muscles, camaraderie among players. Kidding aside, at the core of every competition is the desire to unite each and every participant. The Global Gaming League (GGL) together with its partners were probably thinking along this line when they launched the Professional Baseball Videogaming League (PBGL).

PBGL aims to enable online gaming competition between actual major leaguers and fans. Aside from GGL, the concept was approved by the Major League Baseball Advance Media, Boras Marketing and New York Yankees outfielder Johnny Damon. Also, Damon will serve as the league's first ever commissioner. He announced:

Both baseball and video games play a huge role in today's culture in the US and around the world, and the PBGL is doing a great job of bringing these two communities together. More importantly, the PBGL is allowing me to invoke another passion of mine.

The Wounded Warrior Project raises funds and awareness for wounded veterans. As Commissioner, I'm proud to add former U.S. Army Sergeant Steven Andrew Robison of Kansas City, Missouri, to this season's PBGL line-up.

Well, that's hitting two birds with one stone! Anyway, PBGL for its first season will be employing Project Gotham Racing 3 on Xbox 360. PBGL has a lot of in store for everyone. For details regarding these activities and how to join, refer to the Read link below.

Resistance: Fall of Man

Insomniac Games' Resistance: Fall of Man, is the kind of game that toyed around with the "what-if" concept of World War 2 not taking place. Set in 1951 Great Britain, the atrocious World War 2 was non-existent, but for some reason, the world was being overrun by a species of dubious origin named the Chimera, who have annihilated most of the world's population and were former humans themselves. The plot revolves around the last ditch effort of the US and Britain to fight the Chimera across a war-ravaged British landscape.

Now, you will be in the shoes of U.S. Army Ranger, Sgt. Nathan Hale, a man who was given the heavy task of leading whats left of humanity and defend the world from the Chimera. As we always say when we report about this game, this will be one of the PlayStation3 launch titles, so expect its release on November of this year. For now, here are more of the game's screens for your own viewing pleasure.

chimeraOne of PS3's major titles, Resistance: Fall of Man pits you against aliens who are up to no good to say the least. But unlike most sci-fi-based FPS, the war is set back in the 1950s not in the future. The U.S. and Britain have formed an alliance in a last-ditch effort to save Europe and Asia from the the Chimera – a species of unknown origin that speads a virus that converts other life forms into more Chimera.

The ghastly beasts has overrun Russia and all of Europe. As the chance of the survival of the human species dims, only you (
as U.S. Army Ranger, Sgt. Nathan Hale) stand between total annihilation and victory! No telling when the war with the Chimera will hit stores but based on this short video, looks like it's going to be bloody indeed.
