Uwe Boll - Image 1Got a beef with Uwe Boll? If you want to go all postal on the much-derided director, get Postal 3. He's in it. In fact, he paid to be put in the game. More after the jump.

Street Fighter: the Legend of Chun-Li - Image 120th Century Fox failed to cash in on the love of gamers for Street Fighter IV. The Legend of Chun-Li movie struck an overwhelming disappointment with moviegoers this weekend. How bad? Let's just say that three of Uwe Boll's movies beat its opening gross. And that's without adjustments for inflation.

Ouch.

Uwe Boll's Contra - Image 1So it's the weekend, everyone's crawled off home after our QJ party part 2, and I was again voted to stay and give you guys the news. I am not bitter at all. At least, not after watching this effin new Contra movie trailer by Uwe Boll!

Mega Man - Image 1So, would you rather watch a Uwe Boll movie or a low-budget fan-made movie? I'd go for the latter any day, if you ask me! Check out this trailer for a fan-made live-action movie for Mega Man. Pretty impressive, actually - considering it's got a budget of, like say, just as much as two hundred Happy Meals would cost.

Uwe Boll - Image 1Oh well, it's not an outright ban from making videogame movies, but I suppose this will do (for now). See, biting the hand that feeds you gets you slapped back with bad karma. In this case, karma comes in the form of a US$ 2.1 million fine - and as a judge ruled this week, it's coming from Uwe Boll's pocket. Lesson learned: don't send hateful emails about the company distributing your (universally tragic) films.

Uwe Boll - Image 1Looking for a game-to-movie adaptation to watch this Spring? Then look no more as it seems that Uwe Boll's take on Crytek's Far Cry is heading our way, and it certainly looks to be the interesting flick. With gunplay, explosions, and some tongue-in-cheek humor, this might catch your fancy. Check out the trailer of the movie in the full article.

Spike TV invaded San Diego for the Comic-Con recently, and their footage is finally up. Regular host Geoff Keighley was able to grab a hold of a couple of videogame icons and celebrities, and interview them in this edition of GameHead. Today's video has a quick sit down - actually, they were standing up, rather - with none other than David Jaffe, who was talking about his Eat Sleep Play project (details of which can be found here).

Past the 3:02 mark of the episode though, we have Jaffe pitted against videogame movie director Uwe Boll. We never thought that both names could ever be uttered in the same sentence, much less be inside the same camera frame, but here they are. And if you've got both Jaffe and Boll in the same equation, you can't not ask the question: "Will there be a God of War movie directed by Uwe Boll?"

Jaffe answered this honestly with a resounding "No." Boll, though, had a different response. "Wait until you see Postal, and then you judge." In fact, Boll already even has a rather... fitting actor to play Kratos. Viggo Mortensen. AKA Aragorn. Uhm, right. Watch:

Uwe Boll's making sequels. - Image 1If you've been keeping track of Uwe Boll's hijinks on celluloid, you already know that Postal, his most recent game-to-movie adaptation, actually scored hits with critics who were expecting nothing else than poop on film. You also know that his next venture, "Far Cry", is already well into production.

What you probably don't know is that he's already planning to make the sequel to "Alone In The Dark", the 2005 suspense-thriller laden with so-so acting at best and unspeakable terrors at worst.

Before anything else though, it's good to note that he will not be directing the actual movie. Nope, ol' Uwe's busy in Cannes and handling sales of Far Cry and Postal.

What it bodes for the "Alone in the Dark" sequel, we're not quite sure, as he's yet to announce just who's starring in it or who's going to be in the director's chair. So it's still a toss-up on whether it's good or bad news We're putting our money on the former though, as it's always healthy to be optimistic.

Oh crap. PS3's in trouble - Image 1Tired of Sony's PSP Flog? Annoyed with Uwe Boll? Do you even have your copy of Daikatana? Well, someone's taken the time out to remind about all those less-than-gaming greats. Games Radar has a new segment up, chronicling seven of video game history's worst public relations disasters.

Games Radar's list includes the now-infamous Zipatoni blog that tried to catch the minds of gamers with bad rap and even worse marketing strategy. It also included Uwe Boll, the man whose movies have earned him the scorn of movie reviewers and game lovers alike, and Hot Coffee, the game phenomenon that got the games legislation ball rolling.

Strangely enough, it's the PlayStation 3 itself that took the top spot as the worst PR disaster. There's a very long explanation for the problem, but suffice it to say that low opening supply, PS3-related violence, and extremely bad quotable quotes have gotten the PS3 in hot water, enough to see previously-exclusive titles jumping ship and making a name for themselves on a multiplatform scale.

In the meantime, what we are left with is a worthwhile read, one that doesn't spare any punches when it comes to explaining just what went wrong in the long run. As for reactions, we'll leave that up to you.
