So earlier we reported about the threat  issued by Activision Blizzard Boss Bobby Kotick to Sony about the possible pullout of his company to publish games on the PS3 and the PSP if Sony does not cut the price of the PS3 and reduced its licensing fees. An SCEE representative then gave a short response about the matter but refused to comment any further. Well here comes Playstation spokesman Patrick Seybold to the rescue.

Activision Blizzard President and CEO Bobby Kotick said in a statement earlier that he plans to abandon Sony's PS3 and PSP platforms unless Sony drops the PS3's price and reduced its licensing fees. Sony's reaction: we're not reacting on that one.

Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith has revealed that they have now set their sights on breaking into the action genre with a brand new IP. Details about the IP are still scarce, but Griffith did share with Develop why Activision, which has become decidedly restrictive when it comes to new IP, made the decision. Blur is intended to change the face of racing, thus is the objective of Activision. Speaking at the Q1 earnings call of Activision Blizzard, Activision CEO Michael Griffith disclosed that they have very high targets for Blur.

After Brutal Legend was left out in the cold by Activision, the publisher is now claiming that they still have rights to the game and is threatening to sue the game's new publisher, Electronic Arts.

Now we've got a release window for the next iteration in the Call of Duty franchise, Modern Warfare 2. Activision Blizzard has revealed, in their fourth quarter financial conference call on Wednesday, that the game will be due this holiday season.

Whoa, Black Betty, bam ba lam... Here comes the next track pack in line for Guitar Hero: World Tour on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Going live on February 5 is the Southern Rock Track Pack. Three songs are in it, including Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Commotion", and covers for "Black Betty" and "Gimme All Your Lovin'".
