LBP BC? - Image 1It would be frustrating to spend so much time and talent, investing so much work on one level to make a masterpiece, only to find it obsoleted if a LittleBigPlanet 2 comes out. Anyone out there who made such a level? Alex Evans of Media Molecule won't let your levels gather dust in obscurity if a LittleBigPlanet sequel comes out - he and his team could make LittleBigPlanet backwards compatible.

Emotion Engine - Image 1For those who don't know, the Emotion Engine is the chip that Sony designed which acts as the PS2 CPU. The non-backwards compatible PS3s do not have one of these, hence, no PS2 games. According to the patent spotted, Sony is readying the code and the technology to use the Emotion Engine once again.

MGS4Aaaand: restock! Solid Snake's 80GB bundle is available once again on Amazon. Just in case you're looking to buy a PS3 unit (for yourself, or a friend, a brother, your girlfriend, your granny, who knows?), this one's worth a shot. The SKU was discontinued before, but now it's back.

Just so you know, this is not the Gun-metal Gray unit. This is, however, the backwards compatible version, so that's a plus.

Reports claim that a patch will someday be available to unlock the feature in all PS3s.

SingStar Vol. 2 - Image 1SCEE's PS3 SingStar title has just been given a patch that lets players swap out discs to access tracks found on other PS3 SingStar titles. Good news for gamers in Europe, but it's kind of useless for U.S. gamers at this point since only one SingStar title is out in the U.S. right now. More details after the jump.

Sony PlayStation 3 - Image 1Modding consoles is quite the risky business. After all, whenever you take apart a console by yourself, you're voiding the warranty and it may not work after you put it back together. Ben Heckendorn (or Ben Heck, as he is more commonly known) is not that kind of modder. He is the modder that modders all aspire to be. Check out why and what he just did to a backwards-compatible Sony PS3 in the full article.
