Sony's released a new Bluetooth mouse that's also compatible for use with your PlayStation 3 unit. The VGP-BMS80 is a multi-function laser mouse that works on the new Vaio X, CW and L range of Laptops.

Saving replays is so last gen. With the Cinema Mode feature in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, you can turn your cool in-game clips into your very own movies, so you can show off what your Trophies cannot. Check the vid and see for yourself.

Did you catch those high-performance arcade sticks in Evo 2009 back in July? If they weren't custom, they were from Mad Catz Interactive, manufacturers of controllers and gaming accessories fit for pros. They've now announced their latest gaming goods, and what they're rolling out is a line of controllers for Modern Warfare 2 and each of its versions: Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Those leaked images that everyone thought were fake have finally been vindicated with Sony's announcement of the PS3 Slim at GamesCom just about an hour ago. Now we've come across a few official images of the new PS3 model as well as a video of SCEA president Jack Tretton showing off the Slim. Still busy ooh-ing and aah-ing over the many new features in FW 2.50? Well now, here's a little bit of clarification on the in-game screenshot function: a Sony representative explains that, though the feature is already activated once you upgrade you system to FW 2.50, you actually won't be able to try it out just yet because none of the games out there actually support it yet.

New information about the upcoming firmwares for the PS3 and PSP have surfaced. Well, when Eric Lempel revealed the list of features for PS3 FW 2.50 and PSP FW 5.00 yesterday, he did say it wasn't the entire changelog.

UPDATE: PS3 Firmware 2.50 is now available for downloading, folks. The changelog is shown once you start the download. Nice.

As we make our way into the core of TGS - as well as all the insanity that goes with it - some sources are reporting that we'll be getting quite a big bunch of system updates from Sony next week: PSP FW 5.0 and PS3 FW 2.5. Which is plausible, to a degree. After all, huge changes are coming (PSP Store, PlayStation Home, PS3 bluetooth headset... etc. etc. etc.), and if all these changes are already around the corner, you're bound to hit new firmware updates eventually.
