Solid Snake, main protagonist of the Metal Gear series - Image 1Aging and bushy moustached as he is, Old Snake will be gracing the retail box art of Konami's upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. While the newly revealed box art doesn't come with a sleek steel PS3, it does a good job of depicting the iconic super spy. More details in our full article.

Trailer reveals GTA4 official boxart - Image 1Aside from "going gold" announcements, nothing says a game's almost ready for release as much as the revelations of its official box art. And indeed this is the case for this latest trailer we've picked up, which shows footage of the creation of the cover for Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 4 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Check out the video over at the full article.

Half-Life 2 - Image 1 Half-Life 2 - Image 2

Groans and moans have resonated when the first version of the Half-Life 2 box art came out. Team Xbox said it best when they asked "who did this, an intern?" The one to the left is obviously the old one and the one to the right is the one in it's all its improved glory.

Yup, the orange backdrop with the white text just ticked everyone off. Fortunately, Valve and EA sensed the frustration among their fans and critics, so they came up with something new. The second pack shot isn't the Mona Lisa, but it sure as heck beats the initial offering.

Like the box says, the package includes not only Half-Life 2 Episode 2, but also the strategic Team Fortress 2 where players must assume diverse roles and act as units to ensure success. A completely new spin-off called Portal is also in the mix to enrich the action and add fresh meat in a series which has been in the top-tier for quite a while now.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma box art - Image 1

Well what's that pretty little thing right there, huh? To the excited fans of Tecmo America's Ninja Gaiden Sigma video game for the Sony PlayStation 3, that's exactly what it looks like: Ryu on Ninja Gaiden's final box art.

Says Chris Roper, Executive Editor of the IGN PlayStation Team, "That looks pretty sweet. I like the look of all that cloth hanging from his face -- but it's huge!" And we do agree with everything he said. Although we don't really mind having that big cloth covering most of Ryu's poster-boy face. We'll just take it as a sign of things to come in Ninja Gaiden's gameplay.

So, just hang in there a little bit more. You'll soon see this baby right in your own game shelves come June.

MLB 07: The Show - Image 1 Sony Computer Entertainment America has recently released the box art for the upcoming PS3 tile, MLB 07: The Show.

MLB 07: The Show is the only officially licensed first-party Major League Baseball game and will introduce all new game modes including the all new Road to The Show mode. The new mode should enable players to create their own custom rookie and build their rookie's skills and send him to the top of the ranks. Other modes include: Big Leagues, career and season modes, and exhibition mode.

Sony announced that they're aiming for 1080p resolution in this game. The box art is over to the right. Tell us if this guy looks like David Wright or not.

blurry box art

This fuzzy snapshot of Virtua Fighter 5's supposed box art was shown at IGN.com. Now if you squint really really hard, you'll see a lot of indecipherable Japanese characters (getting cross eyed...).

Maybe we weren't looking hard enough or we just couldn't understand Japanese, but supposedly the box art says that Virtua Fighter 5 would be able to support 1080p or True High Definition. So far, there have been no announcement from Sega regarding this which made a couple of eyebrows go into orbit regarding the claim considering the Virtua Tennis hype.

This is almost comparable to pictures of the Loch Ness monster, Big Foot, La Chupacapra, the Yeti, and alien spacecraft. We're hoping this picture would not join their ranks.

With Virtua Fighter 5 coming to Japan and the U.S. in February, we'll find out soon enough.
