And the war against BBFC wages on. Are they really fit to rate video games, considering their system is built on movie ratings? ELSPA boss Paul Jackson spells things out for everyone: he says the BBFC isn't fit to rate video games anymore, and that PEGI would do a better job at it. |

If speculation surrounding a recent BBFC report proves true, it looks like you'll need to make room for far more than just 2K Games' new DLC for the PlayStation 3 port of BioShock. The U.K.'s rating board indicates that the game will require a hefty hard drive install before you can begin playing. More details on this matter are available in the full article. |

Whether you like spoilers or hate spoilers, there's always going to be a chance that they sneak out somehow - and such is the case with the British Board of Film Classification and its rating of Konami Digital's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Before you ask, yes, the game has been given the green light with no cuts made, but the BBFC also doled out some spoilers to justify its rating. Check them out if you dare in the full article. |

There has been a lot of discussion regarding the recently released Byron Report. Video game publisher and developer Electronic Arts has made clear that it does not believe the conclusions of this study are valid and that the PEGI system should still be used in rating games classified as 12+. To find out more, head on over to the full article. |

If you're wondering just how hardcore Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto 4 (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3) is going to be, you can take a look at the game's information published by the BBFC. However, since the information was posted a bit too early, the BBFC had to take it down as per the organization's policy. The good news is that we were able to save an excerpt from the post, which you can view in our full article. |

The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has rated Rockstar North's Grand Theft Auto 4 for both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. This is good news for gamers in Europe who were worried that the game might receive a banning due to it's content - especially after the whole ordeal with Manhunt 2. Head on over to the full article for more information. |

Previously, media classification groups from all over Europe complimented the professional review of Dr. Tanya Byron, as part of the UK government's ratings review. Those media groups included the Interactive Software Federation of Europe, who's underlying PEGI was particularly noted. But while the ISFE generally agreed with the report, secretary general Patrice Chazerand doesn't seem to agree with Byron's recommendations for change. More at the full story. |
