A new monthly report is in town, and it's a collaborative effort between the top three firms that track sales in the video game industry. North America's NPD Group, UK's Chart Track, and Japan's Enterbrain are now to come up with joint monthly reports. And with their powers combined... it's the Top Global Markets Report! Oooh, sounds like a golden idea! And guess what? The first report has already been published. Wanna see? Get a hold of the top five worldwide best-selling games of 2008 so far!

The UK once again shows its love for anything Mario: Super Smash Bros. Brawl (which was only released on the region by the tail end of last month) is still smashing on top of the charts, and former hotshots Metal Gear Solid 4 and Grand Theft Auto IV are nowhere to be found on top 10. Chart Track reports the software sales figures for the week ending on June 14, with Metal Gear Solid 4 closing its firm grip on to the top spot. Lego Indy is like so last week now. Its multiplatform success on the PSP, PS3, Wii, DS, 360, and PC last week apparently wasn't enough to take cover from the Guns of the Patriots. Chart Track has just revealed that Grand Theft Auto 4  (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) is still holding strong at the top of the list of the software sales list.
