In an interview with Codemasters CEO Rod Cousens, he declared that his company is attractive for companies outside the gaming market. He was able to say so because the company had a good 2007. The successful titles they were by able able to produce the past year include Colin McRae: DIRT (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360), Overlord (PC, Xbox 360) and Clive Barker's Jericho (PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3). The 80s and the 90s can be considered as the golden era of cartoons.
It's the time when the concept of mutant turtles were born, robots as
tall as buildings were created, and talking bears with cute drawings on
their chest was considered cool.Entertainment media has spawned new avenues in modern Earth, but we're sure these old-school cartoons can still kick ass. So in this article, we look at old-school cartoons and wonder how great it would be to have them as a video game. |

British game publisher Codemasters is enjoying the best fiscal cycle
yet in its 22-year history as its US sales spiked up by 22%,
sparking a North American overall growth of 150 %. Considered
instrumental in the deal is its distribution pact with Warner Home
Entertainment and titles such as Overlord (PC, Microsoft Xbox 360) and DiRT (PC, Xbox 360). |

Do we have some people coming in as Kratos this year? Maybe wanna dress up as a character from a new IP, like say, Altair from Assassin's Creed - he seems to be pretty popular among the ladies. With Clive Barker's Jericho's release date now upon us, we get intimate with the Jericho team one last time - and this one's about the main protagonist of Codemasters' supernatural horror FPS, Captain Devin Ross. Probably the only ordinary-looking guy on the team (except for his ridiculously awesome arm tattoos), he's the guy you'll be playing as through the entire game for the PC, Microsoft Xbox 360, and Sony PlayStation 3.
But wait a second. If he's the one we're going to be controlling, then why do the previous videos clearly show the player controlling the other members of the Jericho Squad? That's because of Devin's unique ability to possess humans - humans being his own teammates. Near the beginning of Clive Barker's Jericho, the operation goes awry with the good captain's untimely death at the hands of a particularly ugly-looking monster. But with his power to possess the other members of the Jericho squad, Devin's spirit lives on in the hearts of his buddies. Or something. Which is entirely too bad, as his Patrioteer gun looks like it packs a massive punch, and his Psychic Healing ability looks super-handy. In any case, check out Capt. Devin Ross in action in the video of Clive Barker's Jericho below. Enjoy! Buy: [ Clive Barker's Jericho (PC) ] Buy: [ Clive Barker's Jericho (PS3) ] Buy: [ Clive Barker's Jericho (Xbox 360) ] |

Clive Barker's Jericho from Codemasters and Mercury Steam (PC, Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360) just right around the corner, fans and FPS fanatics are certainly getting ready for some fine blast 'em up action involving lots of guns, and lots of undead baddies. And to get us all hyped is this introductory video of the last member of the Jericho Squad, Captain Xavier Jones.
He may be the last team member to get his introduction video, but he's definitely not the least - as he sports the ability to not only see potential threats from a distance via Seer magic, but also possess enemies for a brief period of time. This lets him control the ghoulies and send them into their own self-destruction. A flaming, explosion-flavored sort of self-destruction. Oh, and he's got this shotgun/submachine hybrid dealie of a weapon. That's cool too. Enjoy the video. Buy: [Clive Barker's Jericho (PS3)] Buy: [Clive Barker's Jericho (Xbox 360)] |

No military outfit is complete without a medic, and Father Paul Rawlings of the Jericho Squad fulfills that role in Mercury Steam and Codesmasters' Clive Barker's Jericho for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Let's get better acquainted with the man of the cloth that speaks softly, and carries two very big handguns.
In the video, we get a look at how Father Paul not only fills the role of medic - being able to revive fallen team members from a distance - but also the team's resident exorcist, able to make the ghouls and ghosts in Clive Barker's Jericho writhe in pain or explode into chunks. And from the way he uses his weapons, he's not averse to the idea of using guns, as we see that he can pretty much handle the monstrous recoil of his dual pistols. Check out the video below to see the good Father Paul Rawlings in action in Clive Barker's Jericho. Enjoy! In Clive Barker's Jericho for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 from Mercury Steam and Codemasters, the player is in full command of a group of individuals bristling with firepower and special abilities. And in this video update, we get an up-close and personal look at one of those individuals, namely Corporal Simone Cole of the Jericho Squad.
What's so special about Corporal Simone Cole? It might be the fact that her visor can point out weak spots in enemies which she can easily target, and that she can hack reality. That's right. Hacking reality as we know it - and we see this in action in her intro video below. Of course, if she could hack reality, couldn't she hack the monsters away? Probably not, but she can make reality do one thing - make time go slower for your enemies. So while they're moving in slow motion, you're pretty much free to pump lead into them without fear of retaliation. Talk about overkill. Clive Barker's Jericho is certainly looking awesome. Enjoy! |

Here are some new screenshots for the upcoming horror-themed FPS Clive Barker's Jericho straight from Codemasters. The game will be hitting retail stores on October 26 for platforms Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. A demo for each build of the title was recently released. Anyway, we believe that one of the most important things FPS titles should have is a good background story and Clive Barker's Jericho is certainly not lacking in that department. The game features God's first creation before Adam and Eve, the Firstborn. These creatures are neither light nor dark and they are both terrible and beautiful to look at. God then banished them into the Abyss because of their imperfection. Since then, a secret order has always trained seven warriors to prevent the Firstborn from escaping. This is where players come in as they step into the shoes of the leader of the Jericho Squad. Each member of the team possesses uncanny abilities such as clairvoyance, alchemy, and exorcism among others. It was recently reported that Germany's rating board USK is not going to rate Clive Barker's Jericho meaning that it's not going to be advertised, displayed, and sold in the said country.
