The "Phantom Insider" is back for another generous helping of juicy info on the PS3. He claims that Sony's next-gen console may ps3 even see more downgraded specs. It looks like Sony won't be getting much love with this new set of bad news that's spreading like wildfire in the gaming circle. But then again, bad publicity is still publicity.

Here's the rundown:
  • Fully functional PS3 betas still do not exist
  • The power source might be an external 400 watt unit, instead of internal as promised
  • The current designs despite having vents all over the place apparently still can't dissipate the heat to sufficient levels
  • Yields on 3.2 gigahertz CELL processors are too low - final release might run only at 2.8 gigahertz
  • RSX has been finished for quite a few months now - no further details
  • PS3 units at E3 is 2.8Ghz and had 2 GB of RAM
These don't surprise me at all but they aren't exactly what I want to read about when I go looking for PS3 news. If these downgrade "rumors" turn out to be true, how would Sony justify the $600 price tag?
