This one's definitely no rumor. Funcom itself has announced on their official homepage that they are cutting "around 20% of the staff...mostly in the Company's Norwegian subsidiary."

The European PlayStation Store update is now available. This weeks content features a downloadable quiz game TV Show King, the demo version of Batman: Arkham Asylum, a trial for Rag Doll Kung-Fu and the third map pack for Call of Duty: World at War. You can also grab the Waldgeist expansion pack for Savage Moon, the inFamous Cole costume for LittleBigPlanet and new contents for Fight Night Round 4.

The latest batch of updates for the PlayStation Store Europe is now available. Starting today, you can grab the highly anticipated WipEout Fury expansion pack. Not to be outdone, the third map pack for Killzone 2, Napalm and Cordite, with two new weapons and two new maps, as well as a bundle pack of all three packs is now waiting for you to explore. That's not all, there are also two new downloadable games, a new game demo and more add-on contents for the PS3 and PSP for you to enjoy.

If you've played WipEout HD before, you may have comes across the "Beat Zico" Trophy. The programmer that Trophy is named after, Zico Liu, has spilled a few more details regarding the upcoming Fury expansion pack including the price and release date.

What do we have here? It seems that the most adrenaline-pumping PSN game from Sony Liverpool will be getting a new set of trophies when the game arrives sometime this year. The folks at TheSixthAxis got the early list of trophies, which appear to be bronze, for the upcoming WipEout HD Fury expansion pack.

Not to be left behind, the much awaited Ghostbusters demo will also be available this week along with the demo of Fuel. Also included in the update is the second expansion pack for MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, extra contents for Skate 2, High Velocity Bowling, Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires and some new games for the PSP.

Celebrating the first anniversary of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Konami announced the details for the 2009 Metal Gear Online Tournament. There's gonna be a limited number of players that they'll let into the tourney, so read up and find out how you can join.

Konami has announced a bunch of new Metal Gear Online stuff: a new map, a character, and a reward mode all available through an update for players who have purchased the SCENE expansion pack. Details after the jump.

Sony execs had a lot to say this week, with their statements running the gamut of emotions from frustration to confidence. The price cut rumor was again resurrected, but that's understandable since we didn't hear a peep at all from Sony about it during E3. We didn't see a lot of big game-related news this week, but there's still meaty stuff nonetheless with updates for Gran Turismo 5 (not a release date, though), The Last Guardian, Uncharted 2 and LittleBigPlanet, just to name a few. This summer, WipEout HD fans will be getting a new expansion pack called Fury. The pack will add 8 new tracks, 13 new ship models, 3 new game modes, and more.
