PS3 Weekend Warrior - Image 1The QJ.NET PS3 blog was chock full of big gaming news again this week, thanks to a whole load of bits about Final Fantasy XIII. Western game devs also jumped into the fray with details from the Sony exclusives inFamous, God of War 3, and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. They even managed to sneak in a little Sly Cooper teaser in the inFamous demo. With E3 less than a month away, we also saw publishers starting to hype up their offerings for the yearly gaming expo. All that and more in this week's PS3 Weekend Warrior.

Life with PlayStation - Image 1A pleasant surprise: there's a new update available for the Life with PlayStation service. Changes for v1.1 include a new Expert Mode added for Folding@Home. Expert Mode huh? No, it doesn't turn F@H into a game which can cause blisters on your thumbs. There's also a new channel made available in the update. Changelog and more info in the full article.

PS Cloud - Image 1Right off the bat, I will say that this does not have anything to do with FF7's Cloud Strife. It could, however, be related to the Lifestream - but that already's a bit of a stretch. See, when you're talking Internet jargon, a cloud basically refers to a network of resources. Cloud computing comes in when you have that cloud sharing resources for a common goal. Yes, think Folding@Home. But what's the next step for Sony?

PlayStation HomeSony has just announced that the launch of PlayStation Home has been delayed... Naw, just kidding. Sony's not that cruel.

Open beta for PlayStation Home will indeed push through today, and Home community manager TedTheDog has given some last-minute updates for all parties concerned, whether you're an existing user (new patch!) or a new one (notes on how to download Home).

*Update* Home hits a snag. *Update2* "Not far off now..."

Life with PlayStation - Image 1It won't get pulled out this time. I hope. Life With PlayStation is now live (again) and ready for downloading.

So what's all the hype about? Isn't it just a Google Earth kinda thing? You bet your Life with PlayStation it's not (yeah, sorry for that pun, but I had to do it). Anyway, watch a feature summary vid of the new service after the link.

A big thanks to Stallyon84 for the tip!

So how would you feel about contributing to the research of the Large Hadron Collider? You know, help destroy the world and everything. I kid. But someday you might be able to contribute to the LHC's research. That part's true. Following in the footsteps of Folding@Home is LHC@Home. Dun dun dunnn.

And a big load of thanks goes to trigger for the tip!
