MTV and Harmonix are opening the doors for user-generated content on Rock Band via a newly announced utility called the Rock Band Network. This essentially gives artists and labels the chance to upload their own tracks and, if approved, get them released as downloadable tracks.

Is there any cause for concern that the final set list for The Beatles: Rock Band (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii) will be compromised by Michael Jackson's death? If in case you still weren't aware, the King of Pop only happened to own the music catalogue of The Beatles via ATV, at least until his untimely demise.

Game consoles have been inundated by a whole slew of rhythm game releases in the past few years, and there are even more on the way. Harmonix, arguably the party most responsible for the rhythm game surge, thinks that this will stop in the future, but only because gamers won't even need a console to play rhythm games on.

Eddie Vedder and the rest of his crew, Pearl Jam, is set to make his way to Rock Band (Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii) via three "nearly-new" tracks this week. Sing along with "Brother", live recordings of "Alive" and "State of Love and Trust", taken from Live, Drop in the Park.

Rock Band will soon come in a shade of Green. With a quick announcement, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, Tre Cool, and the music of Green Day will be adding classic and new tracks into the Rock Band Music Store. More after the jump.

The new Country Track Pack for Rock Band hits retail next month, and so Harmonix and MTV Games have released a full list of the artists and tracks included in it.
