Gran Turismo 5 is a big game. The car count alone attests to that. Of course, games cost money, and big ones even more so. So just how money much did Polyphony Digital use to make Gran Turismo 5? Almost as much as Shenmue, apparently.

In the latest making-of video from Polyphony Digital head honcho Kazunori Yamauchi tells us all about the inclusion of the Mercedes 2011 SLS AMG in Gran Turismo 5. A treat for hardcore car fanatics, but that's not the only interesting part in the video. There's also this certain box that Yamauchi is shown holding. One labeled Gran Turismo 5.

From a blogger's perspective, having to go, "PS3 motion controller this, PS3 motion controller that" over and over can get pretty tiresome. I've wanted a name for this thing for quite some time now, and if the new rumors have it right, I'm about to get my wish. According to this rumor, the name is short, single-syllable, and points to the color-changing orb topping the wand. The new name for the PS3 motion controller might be "Sphere."

Gran Turismo 5 has been in development for more than three years now, only to find that it's only just 65% complete. Despite getting reprieve in the form of Prologue, GT fans have gone too long without the Real Driving Simulator. Good news - Polyphony Digital big boss Kazunori Yamauchi confirms that the next Gran Turismo will come along much quicker than the fifth did, and yes, there just might be a Gran Turismo 6.

When Sony announced the March 2010 release for Gran Turismo 5, they meant that one for Japan. As for all the other regions, you'd be disappointed if you're hoping for a 2009 release. Polyphony Digital boss-man Kazunori Yamauchi explains the story.

So apparently Polyphony Digital is shooting for a simultaneous worldwide release for the long-awaited Gran Turismo 5. Oh, and that feature list we saw a while back? The one that showed up on the studio's website and then got pulled? Everything listed there was true.

Finally, some concrete details about the long overdue Gran Turismo 5. I know, I know, am still wondering myself how come this game got stuck in Neverland for the past couple of years when it's supposed to be the PS3 game everyone just gotta have. But no time for dilly-dallying. Kazunori Yamauchi himself has now spoken, and he brings good news.

For years now, every update we get on Gran Turismo for the PSP is either news on its delay, or a short remark from somebody saying "it's still in development."
