Aaaand that's a headshot from Activision! - Image 1So a spate of chain reactions have come out, thanks to the announcement of Modern Warfare 2's (Xbox 360, PS3, and PC) pricing details in UK. Let's just say it's by no means cheap, especially with the current economic situation the world has. Kinda insensitive is how Activision can be described probably at this point. But hold off on that sentiment first. Michael Pachter's got another of his two cents to shed light on the matter, and for him, it's a test. So far they're getting pretty low marks from consumers, I reckon.

that can't be good - Image 1The much-anticipated NPD software sales for June 2009 have finally been released, but while it's easy to be overwhelmed by the numbers in the thousands, they are, actually, underwhelming. in fact, the analysts have been proven right in their prediction that it will see the fourth consecutive sales decline -- and more. The newly-released sales numbers are now described as the "largest drop in nine years."

GTA IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony - Image 1More forecasts roll out from Michael Pacther. This time, he estimates the success of the Grand Theft Auto IV  DLC exclusive for Xbox 360, The Ballad of Gay Tony, putting the number of sold units at 3 million. Meanwhile, the PSP version of GTA: Chinatown Wars is expected to fare much better than its DS counterpart  did with one million units to be sold in North America alone.

Games - Image 1If the analysts turn out right, then we just might see the fourth consecutive sales decline in the June results of NPD, and then we'll see that price cut happen. Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan and Jesse Divinich of EEDAR are synonymous in saying that sales will most likely be down by around 20-23%.

Michael Pachter - Image 1If the sales numbers keep going down, then it just might be more likely that the console manufacturers will introduce price cuts for their systems before October 1st. Sony will join in on the fray this time. At least that's what Wedbush Morgan analyst, Michael Pachter, is saying.

PlayStation FTW! - Image 1Despite predicting that the PS2 will not have as much influence in the market in 2009 like it used to, Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter still believes in the PlayStation power, saying that the brand will account for 31% of all the games sold worldwide in 2009. More after the jump.

Michael Pachter - Image 1Analyst Michael Pachter expects that by 2015, 7th-gen console sales will end up like this: Wii on top, the PS3 in second, and the Xbox 360 in third place. The Wii's first-place position seems like a foregone conclusion, but what about the other two? More after the jump.

Michael Pachter - Image 1Missed our favorite analyst, Michael Pachter much? Don't worry, he's back, and he's got more than two cents in opinion on the event that he predicted dead last year, E3 Expo. This time around, he zooms in on the highlights of the Expo, the new motion controllers of the big three. His verdict: No Natal nor PS3 MC will topple down the great, big Wii.

ps3 wii 360The March 2009 hardware sales figures haven't been released yet, so you can expect Michael Pachter and EEDAR to throw in their pre-NPD report forecasts. Some numbers for their projected sales of consoles during last month may vary, but one thing remains similar: the Wii may still be on the lead, but the gap between the PS3 and Xbox 360 seems to be thinning down.
