Analyst Michael Pachter expects that by 2015, 7th-gen console sales will end up like this: Wii on top, the PS3 in second, and the Xbox 360 in third place. The Wii's first-place position seems like a foregone conclusion, but what about the other two? More after the jump.

Another week full of lawsuits. Poor, beleaguered company Midway came under fire once again, and this time it was from a very unlikely direction: the guy behind the Mortal Kombat movies is suing them in order to "protect his IP rights", which is a better way of saying that he wants to keep milking the MK franchise for as long as possible. Square Enix also got served with a class-action lawsuit for "deceiving" Final Fantasy XI patrons regarding fees. Not everything was bad, though. Are you ready for another round of price cut rumor? A trusted industry source from Ars Technica revealed that both the PS3 and Xbox 360 will be getting its fair share of price cut this fall.

It took a while for the Japanese to warm up, but Japan sales are now looking good for Microsoft's Xbox 360 (8,015), so said Media Create Sales' data released for the week of June 8 to 14, thus moving it up a notch closer to the PS3 (10,009). The PSP stays cozy at number 2 with 26,904 units sold. However, to nobody's surprise, it's still Nintendo (Wii - 18,442. DS - 42,280) who's laughing all the way to the bank.

Peter Moore is of the opinion that the motion controls presented by both Microsoft and Sony at this year's E3 are "huge opportunit[ies]" for the development house. Their development house, of course.

Wondering why Ubisoft isn't bringing Splinter Cell: Conviction (PC, Xbox 360) to the PS3? Wonder no more cos they gave a very straightforward answer at their Q&A Forums, and the long and short of it is: a PS3 version will remain to be a wishful thinking. Answer to the 'why' after the jump.

 Following the government decision to uphold PEGI as the sole and official ratings board in UK, the BBFC has sent their well-wishes, albeit still with that restrained barb. BBFC Director David Cooke insisted that the BBFC would have been the better choice. Meanwhile, top industry heads are giving their praises for the government's pick. The next generation of videogame consoles may still be a long way off, but according to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, they're already getting ready to develop games for them. Even motion controls, although they'll be sticking to the traditional controller setup for most of their core licenses. More after the jump.

I'm personally baffled and not all too keen about Koei Tecmo's proposition of  incentivizing their staff to expand their families. Maybe they do need the population in their headquarters' town. But what I am sure of is that the news and updates here at QJ are expanding and on their own, beyond the shadows of E3.The (post) event updates have considerably slowed down, but in its place are new items and updates to buzz about, like a new custom firmware, executives' gripes about leakages in the industry, and pushing forth the race of this generation from mere hardware to motion control. This year's E3 was truly one for the books.
