The first downloadable pack for Codemasters' Race Driver: GRID (Xbox 360, PS3) was dated and detailed today in a press wire sent out by the company. The pack, dubbed 8 Ball, will feature eight new cars, two new online events, and an additional four achievements for the Xbox 360 version. Hit the jump for details.

The North American release of Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be getting additional content after all. The official Gran Turismo site has just released more information for the upcoming retail release of Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. So, what sort of automobile goodness is set  for Japan? We're spotting a total of 37 cars, 5 online modes, and 5 different tracks. More details on these features are up ahead in the full article.

Website GT Channel is claiming that its staffers got a copy of an almost complete list of cars that will be appearing in Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.

Before we give you the supposed list, GT Channel also added that one of their sources told them that the other circuits included in GT 5 Prologue will either be Laguna Seca, Infineon or Nordschliefe.

Sony and Polyphony Digital have announced that the Gran Turismo 5 Prologue demo will be staying on the Japanese PlayStation Store than originally announced. Instead of getting removed on November 11, the free demo will be available on the Japanese PlayStation Store until November 30.

The Gran Turismo 5 Prologue demo shows off the Suzuka racing circuit as well as seven different cars including the Nissan GT-R, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR and the BMW 135i Coupe. The demo isn't online-capable, but you can still simulate one hell of a driving experience by having 16 cars on the track all at once.

The full version of Sony and Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be available on both the PlayStation Store and in retail stores on December 11.

We know some of you are disappointed right now after Konami announced yesterday that it is pushing back the release date of PlayStation 3 game Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. The title was originally scheduled to hit retail shelves this winter but the company decided to release it sometime in Q2 2008.

Well, as much as you guys are disappointed, know that Konami is not at all feeling comfy and secure at this point as well. According to the latest report from Bloomberg, the Tokyo-based video game developer and publisher suffered shares decline just right after the announcement.

Konami's shares dropped by 6.8% to 3,160 Yen (US$ 27.31) while the benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average gained 0.8%. This is the largest shares drop the company has suffered since 2003. Quite interestingly, some analysts are speculating that the delay was intended to boost the sales for the next fiscal year.

Mitsubishi UFJ analyst Hirotoshi Murakami had this to say, "Investors were active sellers today because of disappointment over the delay. It may be the company's strategy to boost earnings next fiscal year with the game software."

More details are coming in regarding Sony and Polyphony's plans for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue's presence at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show.

The first update is that Sony will be demonstrating GT 5 Prologue's GT TV - a built-in service that will enable to users view real-life motoring shows like BBC's Top Gear, and Japan's Car Graphic TV via episodic content. GT TV won't be available offline, though.

Moving on, it's also been reported that the GT5: Prologue demo that's scheduled to launch for Japan's PlayStation Network this October 20, 2007 is only going to be available until November 11. And lastly, the GT5 Prologue demo is reported to carry one track - the Suzuka Circuit - and will offer you the privilege of driving one of these seven cars:

• 2008 Lexus IS-F
• 2009 Nissan GT-R (that lovely set of wheels to your upper right)
  
• 2008 Mazda Atenza
• 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STi
• 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR
• 2008 Daihatsu OFC-1
• 2009 BMW 135i coupe
  

Up to 16 cars can be on the track at the same time, although the demo won't be online-capable.

Those who couldn't wait to get hold of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue should take heed of this Tokyo Game Show 2007 announcement: there will be five tracks available in Prologue. Thinking that it's too few to keep yourself entertained until Gran Turismo 5's release? Keep in mind that there are other features jampacked in the game that will definitely enhance gamer experience.

As mentioned in a previous article, Prologue will feature a 16-player online multiplayer feature, which is a first for the Gran Turismo franchise. 30 cars will be made available, including Ferrari, Lotus, Nissan, and Mitsubishi vehicles, to add more replay value to Prologue.

If you're bored with driving cars, then you can just take a break and just watch Gran Turismo TV. Gran Turismo TV will let you get connected and watch car racing programs without having to log off the game for a fee. Also, if you're feeling lucky and want to show off your moves to friends, then you may find the Photo Mode handy in getting screenshots of your game and saving the snaps into your hard drive.

A US release date and pricing information for Prologue is not available yet, but you can count on us to keep you informed. Until then, stay tuned!

A correspondent for Crave along with a few other tech journalists were given a surprise treat during the PGA Tour when Mitsubishi demonstrated advances in their 3D tech. The journalists were given 3D glasses that demonstrated their tech and later revealed that they have a Blu-ray player in development that can convert 2D movies into 3D "on the fly."

The journalists were up at Westchester Country Club to cover Mitsubishi's tech for the golf tour when they were given the demonstration.

The 3D glasses they were given were smaller than the ones displayed in the image. The 3D glasses were cool enough as it displayed material shot in 3D so you really get the feel of dimensions in the shots, but the kicker was the 2D-to-3D Blu-ray converter.

According to the journalist, Mitsubishi plans to release the new Blu-ray tech early next year and that they were in talks with a console manufacturer to incorporate it. He surmises that it's probably the PlayStation 3, which would be the logical choice among the next gen consoles.

So will we see this 3D wonder tech from Mitsubishi anytime soon? If so, we'll probably be hearing more about it. Watch out for updates.
