Houston Rockets shooting guard/small forward Tracy McGrady is the new face of NBA Live 07. Aside from gracing the cover of the best-selling ea-sports/2880" id="tag" title="">EA Sports title, the electrifying nine-year NBA veteran will serve as the spokesperson and centerpiece of NBA Live 07 advertising, marketing, and packaging in North America and several other countries.

With two NBA scoring titles under his belt, McGrady embodies the athleticism that NBA Live 07 adds to the gameplay experience. He led the league in scoring by averaging 32.1 points per game in 2003. Since then, he has remained one of the most explosive and entertaining players in the NBA.

"I've always looked upon the EA SPORTS athletes as fan favorites, so I'm honored to be named this year's NBA Live 07 cover athlete and join the EA SPORTS family. Each year, there is tremendous anticipation around the league as players wait to see themselves in NBA Live and I feel like this year my virtual self plays more like me than ever before. This is as close to playing in the NBA as you get.", McGrady said.

McGrady joins an exclusive list of superstar athletes previously featured on the cover of the best-selling NBA Live franchise, including Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat (2006), Carmelo Anthony (2005), Vince Carter (2004), and Jason Kidd (2003).

NBA Live 07 will introduce Total Freestyle Control, a new feature that gives gamers more control over players. Fan-favorite features like All-Star Weekend and Dynasty Mode have also been enhanced to deliver more authentic gameplay.

This year, NBA Live 07 will partner with ESPN to deliver more content in-game while you play. The most advanced ESPN integration package with never-before-seen features will be available only through the game. NBA Live 07 is scheduled to be released in the fall.

In a press statement released by Electronic Arts recently, they have stated that the next incarnation in the series of their popular NBA Live basketball simulation franchise will be one of the titles available with the launch of the Playstation 3.

The statement reads "NBA Live 07 will be available this fall on the Xbox 360 and Xbox video game systems, the PlayStation 2, PSP handheld system, and PC. It will also be one of the EA Sports titles available at launch of the PS3 entertainment system". It is interesting to note the use of the words 'be one of the EA Sports titles available' which may indicate that along with NBA Live '07 (that was on display at the recent E3 conference), other titles from the EA Sports range may also be available with the launch.

NBA Live 07 currently has a release date of November 17.
