DoA girls - Image 1While this list isn't exactly the most original of its kind, we wanted to offer our take on which mamas are the hottest in the virtual world. Everything here is subjective and any list is as good as ours. So without remorse, this is our top 10 hottest game babes to date:

10. Maria Renard (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night)- The blonde hottie from Alucard's big night out may not have been seen in 3D glory and all, but the portrait was convincing enough. With her perfect complexion, killer brown eyebrows and the wavy, golden hair, she was a perfect leading lady to match with the vampiric charm of Dracula's son.

9. Mai Shiranui (King of Fighters)- Mai first appeared in the first half of the 90's in Fatal Fury 2. She immediately became one of the stars of the game for obvious reasons: She had the moves and the physique to match. Where rival bear 'em up Street Fighter II featured more conservative lady brawlers, SNK showed Mai's assets off with an innovative twist: Bouncing jubblies! Now imagine the testosterone levels in the old-school arcades more than a decade ago.

8. Aerith Gainsborough (Final Fantasy VII)- The gorgeous good girl of the legendary RPG Final Fantasy VII may have led a short and sweet character lifespan, but the fact remains that she's still one of the most beloved females in the business to date. Okay, the clothes she wore may not exactly be revealing, but we have to understand that it's how she was meant to be packaged in the first place. Imagine if she was a bit more fashion-trendy: She would have given the DoA girls a run for their money.

7. Morrigan Aensland (Dark Stalkers)- The naughty night warrior does that succubus lineage proud. She looked fantastic in 2D and had the ferocity to match. The anime spin-off of Capcom's popular Halloween fighter did her justice as she was just as charming there. Call her costume weird, but that only strengthens the convictions of her appeal. You gotta admit, not a lot of girls will look sexy in that!

A Playboy Playmate and a PS3. What more could a guy ask for (aside from a truckload of money, that is)? That's exactly what N'Gai Croal and the staff of Level Up got during Sony's Challenge a Playmate on PS3 promo in Miami.

The Playmate in question was Miss May 1998 Deanna Brooks. How did she stack up in the gaming department? Here's what Croal had to say:

...any hard feelings we might have harbored quickly evaporated when we discovered that Brooks is a gamer of long standing, from the Atari days on. While she certainly enjoys a good game of Madden NFL, the game she cites more readily is Sony's Ratchet & Clank series.

We began to suspect that Brooks was craftily shilling for her sponsors--until she revealed that what she really loves about Ratchet is beating the game, then starting over with her completely powered-up protagonist and scoring even more impressive weapons and gadgets. Then she told us about how her husband once put her on punishment for spending 12 hours straight on her PS2.

The final tally? Brooks, 7. Level Up team, 0. Massive pwnage.

Playboy logo - Image 1Sports fans know what February 4 (Sunday) means - Super Bowl season. Now, to kick things off just right, Sony has announced its PS3 console will be part of one the biggest parties going down on February 3 (Saturday) to start the season. And the invite comes from...Playboy?

That's right - every man's favorite bunny has just announced that in line with its "Eighth Annual Super Saturday Night Party," party-goers will get a chance to challenge one of the 30 Playboy Playmates to their favorite games on the PS3. As for the other activities...well, given this is Playboy after all, we'll leave it to your imagination.

The event name is titled "P.M.: Playboy Miami After Dark," and will be happening at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. Yes, we know - we can't help but be envious of the dudes who get a chance to get to try out Resistance or MotorStorm at the site...if that's what they're after. Wait, what was Sony's say on this sort of thing? Then there's that recent deal withDarth Pope Benedict...
