It's not exactly the PlayStation Phone (or PSP phone) that's been speculated and talked about for some time now, but Sony Ericsson is apparently taking steps towards adding some interaction between their products and Sony's PlayStation 3 console.

Version 1.10 is now out for the PlayStation 3 European digital TV add-on, PlayTV. This patch brings a hefty bunch of new additions, particularly the automatic upscaling from SD to HD. More update details after the jump.

If things go well for Sony, PlayTV could eventually land a big footprint on media hub history. In its first week in retail alone, it looks like it's already making waves. Sony's confirmed that it's already shipped 85,000 units of the freeview box across the UK.
