Flint Dille to work on new Sin City game - Image 1Red Mile Entertainment is announcing that they've gotten Flint Dille to lead the design, scriptwriting, story generation, and overall production of their upcoming title, Sin City: The Game.

The readers may remember Dille for his previous video game works, which include The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay by Vivendi Games for the PC and Xbox, and Nuclear Strike and Soviet Strike by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation.

On the non-gaming side of his works, Dille's also been accredited for writing, editing, and/or producing for 80s cartoons like G.I. Joe, and The Transformers (He also did a commentary for the recently released film). Interestingly, Dille's also an old buddy of Sin City comic creator Frank Miller - they reportedly met back when Miller was working on the Batman: The Dark Knight Return comic, and Dille was working on the Transformers cartoon.

Regarding the upcoming Sin City game, here's what Dille had to say:

Frank and I have been having a party coming up with nasty stuff for the game. In true Sin City fashion, some old characters will return, new characters will appear and - without giving anything away - probably die horribly. It's great to be working with the Red Mile team on this project: They clearly share Frank's and my commitment to bringing a new and true Sin City to interactive life.

Another group that Red Mile's reportedly bringing into their project is Union Entertainment. The company was responsible for the Sin City concept document that first got Miller interested in creating the comic's game adaptation.

Sin City - Image 1Writer Frank Miller's work with the Sin City graphic manuscripts has paid off outside the literary realm as Red Mile Entertainment Inc. has announced that it's turning the gripping stories into an art form much more interactive this time around.

While terms of the deal were not disclosed, both parties expressed delight in the pact. For their part, Red Mile says that Miller's writings have a great sense of action, drama and character depth that would fit a video game nicely.

Red Mile CEO Chester Aldridge says "Sin City enjoys a broad and devoted following. Its crime noir settings, richly detailed characters, hyper-real action sequences, and engaging stories provide an outstanding groundwork for video games."

Sin City game details have so far been kept tight under wraps. The platform where the game will roost has also remained undeclared. We'll keep you posted on more developments on this project.

Heroes in Planes! There will be no snakes on this plane, sadly, but there will be a ton of heroes. At least, that's the plan of IR Gurus and Red Mile Entertainment as they release a sequel to their combat flight sim Heroes of the Pacific.

Titled Heroes Over Europe (working title), the game has already been under pre-production for six months and is planned for release on the newest generation of consoles. IR Gurus is hoping that to get the spirit of the original and add a lot more into each and every dogfight to up the ante from its predecessor. They should be able to do it easily enough, especially since they got Kevin Buckner, formerly of Lionhead Studios, to produce the game.

As it's tentative release will be in 2008, there's no need to rush for a pre-order. Something to note is that they intend to release it for the Xbox, PS3, PSP and the Wii, so we should be seeing a relatively intuitive control scheme to work with all the consoles. The most important thing that ought to get into this game though, would be using the Wiimote like a joystick and shouting "pew-pew-pew" at the TV screen, because that's what makes shooting flying things down so much fun!

Stay alert and watch the skies over QJ for more on this dogfight extravaganza.
