Rockstar's Sam Houser - Image 1It's a different take of what Rockstar's founder actually did say in an interview as one of MCV Entertainment's exclusive feature, but it's factually accurate. Sam Houser, who many claim to be the driving force behind the Grand Theft Auto franchise, was executive producer of Grand Theft Auto 3. That game  became the direction of the subsequent iterations of the sandbox game later on. He says that powerful people have been out to put Rockstar out of business, and they're quite plenty.

Sam Houser - Image 1With EA's deadline for Take-Two Interactive coming up fast, a lot of people are eagerly waiting for Take-Two's reply to the game publishing giant's takeover bid. Whatever happens, though, it seems like Rockstar Games president and co-founder Sam Houser actually sees a few good things about an alliance with EA.

Rockstar Games logo - Image 1Rockstar Games has acquired Mad Doc Software and has thus created Rockstar New England from it. Looks like the development empire of the company is by no means slowing down despite the heavy criticisms for its prominent game titles (GTA is a dead giveaway). See how this new partnership sprang up over at the full article.

Ok, so the website got a big update on videos and wallpapers, but that doesn't count. We're talking about new updates on the game itself: a possible MMO for the GTA franchise, minor details on SIXAXIS controls, mention of episodic downloads, even some slight info on the difference between the PS3 and Xbox 360 version. Check them all out in the full article.

Midnight Club: Los Angeles will appear on PS3 and 360 - Image 1If we are not mistaken, the Midnight Club franchise is probably one of the first titles that featured street car racing. It's owned by Rockstar Games (San Diego) and the earlier versions always used fictional vehicles because automobile manufacturers didn't want to be associated with the illegal sport.

That didn't stop Rockstar though from creating more titles for the series and in fact, it just announced fourth installment Midnight Club: Los Angeles for platforms Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (PS3). There's still no details available for this game but Rockstar promised that it will remain true to the franchise's open-world racing-at-break-neck-speed setting.

Midnight Club series producer Jay Panek mentioned that their goal with Midnight Club: Los Angeles is to evolve on all possible levels and stay true to the hardcore gaming experience the series is known for. Likewise, Rockstar Games Founder and Executive Producer Sam Houser commented,

Rockstar San Diego looks to once again push the boundaries and expectations of what a racing game can be. Rockstar San Diego has always been the technology leader in delivering the ultimate racing experience, and with this game, they are looking to re-define the idea of a completely immersive racing game experience, both offline and online.

Given the relative success of the franchise, we wouldn't be surprised if real cars will start appearing on this game. As always, you'll hear about more details as soon as we get them.
