SCEA Home manager CydoniaX at the PlayStation boards clarifies certain issues surrounding Home-hopping across regions and the upcoming cabbage patch v1.21 update. Apparently there's been some confusion about Home content, and a bit of envy over other region's content like Prinnies and whatnot. Here's something to look forward to though, other than this week's patch: it looks like picture frames will come in during E3 2009.

I actually know a couple people who are still playing echochrome (gotta give it to them, they've got patience!) and enjoy it (ah, they must be masochists). But either way, the mind-bending puzzle game on the PSN will be getting a huge update pretty soon, and it will incorporate PlayStation Eye and YouTube support. Installing the patch will allow you to watch yourself play the game via an in-set window at the corner of the screen (Why you'd want to watch yourself tormenting yourself is strictly your own business, not mine), and upload it to YouTube after.

If you happen to be in Japan in June and has still to pick up a copy of Konami's blockbuster game, Metal Gear Solid 4, then that would be the perfect time to get one (although I do have to ask why the heck don't you still have your own copy). Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) has announced today that MGS4 now belongs to the platoon of their PlayStation 3 Best budget line.

Eat it, Dood! The Prinny squad is headed for PlayStation Home! SCEJ has revealed a new Home space for Japan: the Disgaea 3 lounge. I wonder if those Prinny dolls can do the cabbage patch too? "Bend over and lean and let  your chain swi---BOOM!"

Folks hoping to fan rumors of the fabled PSP 2 will surely have a field day over this. The other day, a job posting made public by Sony Japan has the Internets whirring like crazy. See, SCEJ is looking for people to test some "new game machine" of theirs. The job listing didn't give any details about what it is, of course, but it did say it's going to be some new hardware for the PlayStation brand.

This is one tough list to get into, and so we tip our hats to the game titles that were hailed as one of Famitsu's Best PSP and PS3 Games for the past year of 2008. No surprise there, Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G from Capcom took the sweet number 1 spot, with cherry on top for the Sony handheld, while Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid 4 leads the pack for the PS3, with no less than a shining perfect score from the reviewers.

Lucky for Square Enix, there's nothing like starting the year with a big bang in sales. The figures for Japanese game sales for January 5 to 11 have been published by Media Create. Surprise, suprise, Dissidia: FInal Fantasy is still on top!

Not long after the PS3 celebrated its second birthday, Japanese gaming mag Famitsu publishes the console's highlights, as well as it's best-selling titles. None other than Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots finds a seat as PS3's best-seller in Japan. Who else made it to the list? Find out in the full article.

Man. Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G just keeps on raking all those prizes and milestones in Japan, doesn't it? And what's the latest award of MHP 2nd G? It just won the Double Platinum prize in SCEJ's PlayStation Awards 2008 ceremonies where developers and publishers were given huge pats on the backs for their excellent PSP, PS3, and/or PS2 games. The event was held just earlier in Japan, with MGS4 and Crisis Core, among others, also bringing home the bacon.

First-time owners of PS3 consoles in Japan are let in on a new kind of promotional campaign. SCEJ has announced that PS3 units in Japan will be getting a freebie disc containing demos and trailers from the PSN. Some choice slabs of meat (i.e. DLC trailers and demos) were compiled and put on discs for the users' convenience: MGS4 demo, LBP trailer, etc. Here's something interesting though: apparently, the RE5 demo is not exclusive to the Xbox 360 in Japan. It's now part of SCEJ's demo discs!
