After all was said and done, what everyone thought to be Sega's Yakuza 3 wasn't what it was after all. The game released a few months back in Japan wasn't actually a sequel in the series per se, but merely a spin-off. The devs explained that the real Yakuza 3 is yet to come and will supply a truly new chapter on the game's storyline. More after the jump.

Sega's upcoming Sonic Unleashed (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii) has been a point of curiosity for a while now. A lot of people familiar with the blue speedball are wondering how his werehog transformation will work out. The latest trailer is here and it features the title's gameplay. Following previous denials from Sega that the newly revealed Crucible title had no relation to their own similarly titled game, the recently leaked game may actually be the latest brain child of Oblivion designer Ken Rolston and developer Big Huge Games. A gameplay video, which NeoGAF forum member MMaRsu had the impression of looking "pretty complete," was extracted and uploaded to video sites immediately. After eight weeks on top, Nintendo's Mario Kart Wii was ousted from the top spot in Media Create's software chart list by Sega's Pro Yakyuu Team o Tsukurou! On the flip side, the PlayStation Portable is still enjoying a comfortable lead against its other hardware rivals. An official statement has been worded out: Sega, the guys who've planned to go all out on game adaptations of other media franchises, have licensed the third iteration of the Unreal Engine from Epic Games for an as yet unidentified project.
