SCEA has announced a new downloadable map pack for SOCOM: Confrontation is on the way. Known simply as the Cold Front pack, it will be loaded with new features and contents, including a brand new snowy Eastern European area of operations. It will also include two new maps and three classic SOCOM maps for 16 to 32 players.

If, by some chance, you happen to be in Tokyo on the days of the Tokyo Game Show, drop by so you can check out some of the wares being shown off for Sony's PSP and PS3 consoles. Waiting for information on the SOCOM: Confrontation Patch? Wait no more cos SCEA Senior Producer Mark Rogers has announced on the PS Blog that patch 1.50 is ready and rolling out next week.

The hunt for the elusive PS3 Slim continues as more rumors and rumor-fueling info churn up into the scene. With GamesCom coming up, we're getting closer to getting our answers. Will it be a PS3 Slim? A price cut? Will it be both? Or will we wind up with the line of the year (We don't comment on rumors and speculation)? I don't think the last one will be the case. Contrary to what online gamers may generally believe, it's actually not Killzone 2 or Resistance 2 that racks up the most number of online connections simultaneously in-game. That honor belongs to none other than SOCOM: Confrontation, and SCEA has got the community's commitment to thank for it.

French PSP site PSPGen has supposedly managed to acquire a European release schedule for upcoming PS3 and PSP titles. The report also includes scans of what seem to be brochures for PSP and PS3 console bundles.

Slant Six has finally revealed the release date of the upcoming DLC pack for SOCOM: Confrontation. It was announced that the DLC will be released later this summer. No other details was given as of the moment, but we can expect  to hear more info about the content in the upcoming weeks.

Patches, patches, patches are still coming for Slant Six's PS3 shooter, SOCOM: Confrontation. Patch 1.50 is now reportedly feature complete and in testing, and while it's not yet out the devs have decided it's a good time as any to announce a few features in patch 1.60. Details after the jump.

Of note this week in Europe's PSN update are a handful of downloadable PSP games: LocoRoco and SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 2 being half of that list. The usual PS3 games get DLC packs again, but if you guys want to give Savage Moon a spin, there's a trial version available.

Jeff Rubenstein posted earlier today at the PlayStation Blog to announce that he, along with Chris Morell, will be headed to L.A. for SCEA's pre-E3 show. With them is an exciting list of games that will will come in neat, sneak peek packages.
