Hopes are running high for the Sony PlayStation 3 exclusive MAG, Zipper Interactive's 256-person multiplayer fragfest. Zipper's also aiming high, promising to deliver a multiplayer experience deeper than that of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (PS3, Xbox 360, PC), the reigning king of the multiplayer FPS hill.

Sony's still keeping the lid tight on MAG, Zipper Interactive's upcoming action game of admittedly epic proportions, but SCEA hardware marketing chief John Koller managed to reveal two things about the game: 1) it's similar to the SOCOM series; and 2) it's only possible on the PS3.

SCEA VP of Product Marketing, Scott Steinberg, is a firm believer that Killzone 2 will be that factor strong enough to have the Xbox 360 gamers try out the PlayStation 3 system. In an interview with GameDaily, Steinberg talked about the golden boy of the PS3, the many more great things to expect from the PS3, and why 2009 is really THE YEAR of the said console.

PlayStation Home's getting quite a bit of content in the days to come. According to a post from TedTheDog, we're finally getting the Street Fighter IV outfits in the next few weeks, and they're prepping up for a lot more games that will be supporting Home.

PlayStation Home's getting new ninja outfits and will be holding an "I Love Ninjas" event where you get a chance to win SOCOM and Warhawk vouchers. Ah, the moment of truth: the European release date for SOCOM: Confrontation has finally been set in stone. No more rumors, and let's hope no more delays either. For those of you guys in Europe who still haven't lost interest, take out the red markers!

It won't be a big surprise if I said that PS3 owners in Europe feel a bit left out of the PSN scene. Fact is, the US PSN has more goodies than its European counterpart. Sony gamers in Europe have a lot to look forward to in the next few months. Sony Europe has revealed release dates for several games, including Patapon 2, and SOCOM Confrontation, so you might want to get a pencil out.
