Over in Japan, Tecmo has announced an official release date for Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, the PlayStation 3 version of Ninja Gaiden 2. They're also prepping a couple of special editions for the game. Details after the jump.

Yosuke Hayashi of Team NINJA (Tecmo) dropped by the PlayStation Blog to share some new information about Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. For this post, he delved into the female playable characters: Rachel, Ayane, and Momiji. He even brought along a cool gameplay video, as well as a challenge to add to the fun while you wait.

Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2's not only got a big... swagger, they've also got ginormous ammuntion. In doubt? These screenshots ought to convince you otherwise.

After the Ninja Gaiden dojo, Tecmo, and Dynasty Warrior factory, Koei, completed their merger last April, the newly-formed Koei Tecmo Holdings is now hard at work on a crossover title, combining IPs from both publishers to launch a new one. Time to review those Koei and Tecmo titles so we can all play guessing games as to which IPs will be making it to the new Koei Tecmo title.

I'm personally baffled and not all too keen about Koei Tecmo's proposition of  incentivizing their staff to expand their families. Maybe they do need the population in their headquarters' town. But what I am sure of is that the news and updates here at QJ are expanding and on their own, beyond the shadows of E3.The (post) event updates have considerably slowed down, but in its place are new items and updates to buzz about, like a new custom firmware, executives' gripes about leakages in the industry, and pushing forth the race of this generation from mere hardware to motion control. It's all right here, so dig in.

The global population may be ballooning like mad, but Koei Tecmo seems to think that there aren't enough Dynasty Babies to form a strikeforce. If China has the One-Child policy to discourage procreation, Koei Tecmo does the exact opposite, providing monetary incentives for their employees to have more babies.

You know Rachel's tough when she can dress like a stripper and still kick some major ass in the rain. That's what you're about to see, plus a little more, on this E3 trailer for Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 from Team Ninja and Tecmo. That's right, the busty, leather-clad femme fatale is now playable in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, along with Dragon Sword's Momiji. Details after the jump.

At last year's Tokyo Game Show, Tecmo revealed a pair of games for Sony's PS3-PSP tandem: Quantum Theory and Undead Knights. The former is an FPS for the PS3. The latter is a PSP title where players have to turn enemies into zombies.

Nice, yes? Well, Tecmo's bringing both games to E3. Even better: both games will be getting releases in North America. More after the jump.

Tecmo's Team Ninja is one crew that has weathered a few storms over the years. There was the resignation of Tomonobu Itagaki, the subsequent lawsuit, and the Koei Tecmo merger among others. The team may have lost one of its aces, but it's good to see that they are still walking the path of the ninja. Now under the leadership of Yosuke Hayashi, the team is now going to work on new Ninja Gaiden titles.
