GameStop - Image 1When news spread about GameStop breaking the street date on Modern Warfare 2, Chris Oliviera, the retailer's vp for corporate communications in Texas, contacted Kotaku to explain the situation. The exec confirms that GameStop indeed made the decision to break the street date, saying that it was "an effort to protect our customer base."

On Shelves This Week - Image 1Finally, a game that everyone is definitely waiting for: Madden NFL 10. We' have some lackluster stand alone games the few weeks past, but not anymore. Starting this week, you're finally gonna get all the field action you've been longing for. Gearbox Software - Image 1Texas-based studio Gearbox has confirmed that that they have indeed trademarked the "War Hero" IP. Superannution has reported that there are actually four titles stringed to this new IP, filed on June 18th of this year. More details after the jump.

That bear with the bad touch - Image 1There's a new bill being hatched in Texas that may require convicted sex offenders to register their gamertags and other account names for online game networks like the PlayStation Network and Second Life with the fuzz. The new bill is called HB 22 and is headed to the Texas House of Representatives. If it passes there, it's next stop will be the Senate.

PSN video content update - Image 1This week's haul at the PSN video store isn't as big as last week's, but hey, that one was a tough act to follow. Besides, we still have a good batch this week, starting with the director's cut of Daredevil. The Mothman Prophecies is also pretty good, but if you wanna load up on the creepy, Candyman will do the job. And BSG fans, the much-awaited finale is coming to the video store too.
