The rumor that Crysis will get ported to the PlayStation 3 is so old that I'm beginning to think it's actually true. The latest Official PlayStation Magazine UK has an all new batch of rumors we can chew on, and if there was any justice in the world, they're all true. Check 'em out after the link!

It looks like a new musically inclined hero is in town. This time, you won't be brandishing a guitar, drum set, or even a microphone. Instead, DJ Hero will let you play with your own turntable and mash-up some wicked tunes in the latest rhythm-based video game title from Activision Blizzard. More details in our full article.

It's official. Monolith's Project Origin (PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) will no longer be a "spiritual successful" to their own hit shooter F.E.A.R. Instead, it's now a full-blown sequel. yes folks, after a peculiar set of circumstances that left Monolith without the rights to their own game's name, they have finally regained access to the F.E.A.R. brand.

The paperwork for the merger is over; now comes the hard part. Vivendi's UK office has been reduced to a skeleton crew as majority of its staff will move to Activision's facility in Stockley Park. Pretty soon, the ball will get rolling and we'll see what wonders Activision Blizzard will bring. Anyone for a Guitar Hero MMO? No?

It was a bit of a letdown when Activision Blizzard didn't include Ghostbusters: the video game (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS, PC) in its list of releases for the remainder of 2008. Vivendi, however, indicated that all is not lost as they will be exploring other options on how to release it. The game will have to come in 2009, but someone has to pick up the publishing reins first.

A bit of bad news has arrived regarding the entity that's now known as Activision Blizzard. The company sent out a press wire announcing that only five of Vivendi's games are expected to be published, leaving the future of the company's other titles in question. It's now official AND finalized: Activision and Vivendi have finally completed all the transactions needed to seal the deal and merge into Activision Blizzard, and the union between the two major gaming outfits would open a whole lot of possibilities for the gaming industry. Those looking for more details about Double Fine's Jack Black-starring heavy metal action title, Brutal Legend, will have to wait until after E3. Creator Tim Schafer has confirmed that the game will not be appearing during the annual gaming trade show. More in the full article.

Some shareholders were apparently not too pleased when Activision and Vivendi made known their plans to form a merger, and filed an injunction suit in an attempt to stop the development in its tracks. All was for naught, however, when the court denied the request to intervene in the planned merger. More details in the full article.

This month saw the exodus of three companies from the ranks of the Entertainment Software Association (ESA). Following the trend started by Activision, Vivendi, and LucasArts, id Software of Doom and Quake fame recently confirmed that it will also be taking its leave from the video gaming group.
