This week on the US PlayStation Store: The video store is getting new and improved content starting today - count theatrical trailers, movie bonus footage and free TV episodes into that list. As for the DLC, there's a truckload for BlazBlue and Cross Edge - if you're playing those, you'd want to take a look. The PSOne classic, Bloody Roar, is also making a comeback today, Hugo and the gang ought to add some flavor to fighting game fans. The rest of the list is just a click away.

In an interview with PC World, Sony Director of Network Operations, Eric Lempel, took the time to address questions on PS3 Updates, their Emmy award-winning XMB interface, and the rumors on the next firmware update. The Gamer Access is speculating that the new PS3 Firmware 2.80 just might be announced very, very soon. On the SCEA's Press Information website, it was allegedly found that there was a link for the PS3 Debug Firmware Update 2.80. However, clicking on it only leads to the message "The file requested do not exist".

SCEE has announced that VidZone, the on-demand music video service for the PlayStation 3, will go live in Europe on June 11. The free service gives you the freedom to view thousands of music videos on demand by streaming them directly to your PS3 and onto your TV screens.

Are you one of them fortunate folks participating in the Multiplayer Beta for Naughty Dog's Uncharted 2: Among Thieves? Week 2 is just about upon you now, and they're letting it known that they are making some tweaks already to improve your experience. Version 1.10 is now out for the PlayStation 3 European digital TV add-on, PlayTV. This patch brings a hefty bunch of new additions, particularly the automatic upscaling from SD to HD. More update details after the jump.

Capcom's FLOCK! is a sandbox-like puzzle game where gamers take control of an alien ship (the 'Flocker') and abduct innocent herds of farm animals by driving them into the mother ship (aka the 'Motherflocker'). It's really way better than it sounds, and you can find that out for yourself next Thursday when it hits the PlayStation Store.

The PlayStation 3  2.70 Firmware Update is definitely coming! Not today, though, at least not now. Maybe in a couple of hours it'll land - you know how Sony is about dropping their FWs: announced, but always surprising. Anyhow, Eric Lempel took to the PS Blog to reveal to us a few nifty details about this latest firmware edition for the power console. First up: the new Text Chat feature. Sounds cool, eh? The LittleBigPlanet 1.12 patch, also known as the Cornish Yarg update, still doesn't have a fixed release date, but at least we'll know now what it's gonna be all about. New updates, new options, and the usual unspecified improvements in this one. Check 'em out.
